I was on net-a-porter last night, doing my weekly browsing of items that I would need to save a year for and I was quite stunned and shocked with what I saw.
Please don't get me wrong I am a lover of Balmain, I have to say if I was a millionaire I would definatley buy a few of their fabulous cocktail dresses, the new statement jacket and a pair of heels thrown in. But I cannot get over the pricing of their items, I am in utter shock and disbelief. I am not one to flinch at prices for high fashion items, but this is too extreme.
I guess their target market really is aimed at people who have money to literally burn, and laugh while they are doing it: They obviously want their brand to be only associated with people who are in the upper-upper crest of society. To be realistic, people can still buy Chanel and Hermes that are on modest salaries if they really want an item and save for it.
